Duties:
The responsibility of the Recorder of Deeds office is to record, maintain and preserve all the land records of Monroe County.  Marriage license records and military discharge papers are also filed in this office. 

Recorder's Fees:
Standard Document                                                 $24  First Page, $3 Each additional page thereafter
                                                                                                (Page defined as 8 1/2" x 11")
Non-Standard Document                                      $25 Penalty Fee
Additional Fees                                                            $5  per each additional referenced document
Plats                                                                                   $44 First Page (18" x 24"), $25 for each additional page
Surveys                                                                             $24 First page (18" x 24"), $5 for each additional page
                                                                                              $29 First page (24" x 36"), $10 for each additional page
Copy of Real Estate Document                          $0.50 per page
Certified Copy of Real Estate Document     $0.50 per page, plus $2 for certification


All documents to be mailed must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope of sufficient size to accomodate the document. 

Searches from 1831-1995 can only be completed in the Monroe County Courthouse.  The Monroe County Recorder's office does not do searches, unless a specific information request is made and sent with $14.00.
